For those here who like to rub out their finishes to gloss, especially in open-pore woods, it can be a bit of a hassle with respect to rubbing compound in the wood pores.
Simple solution is to clean the stuff out of the pores. Tools needed are a spray bottle to apply a light spray of water with a bit of dish detergent, compressed air and a small blow gun tip, and a soft rag. Spray the surface with a light mist then use the blow gun to blast out the pores then wipe clean with the soft cloth.
Little white specks are gone.
