Does this dull a bandsaw blade??

Yesterday I was cutting a five foot long arc with my bandsaw.  I was cutting along the line and my cut wandered about a 1/16" away and I gently corrected.  This left a slight bulge.  I went back and skimmed some of it away.  Red Oak, 1" thick.  Does skimming along on one side of the blade tend to dull that side?  Would that have a tendency to make the blade wander in the next cut?  In other words, is this a bad practice?
