Luckily I have plenty of stuff to photograph for test purposes. Here's a "retablo" we got in Ayacucho, Peru, almost 20 years ago. These are an art form down there, and some of them get really elaborate. The detailing ranges from mediocre in tourist-quality retablos, to exquisite in the more involved designs. This one is somewhere in the middle. The box is 7 5/8 W x 5 7/8 H x 2 5/8 D. It has 11 full figures and 25 masks, all hand carved and hand painted.
