I just came in from cleaning the yard for the 5th or 6th time this fall......leaves and wind......you're a car guy, I've put my Corvette up for the coming winter......got the snow thrower parked behind it......I'll be attaching the battery charger and getting the cover on soon......back in the late 1950s - early 1960s, we had a TV show called Route 66 that was complete brilliance on the part of Chevrolet/General Motors.....it featured two guys in their early 20s riding across America in a Corvette on a two lane blacktop (Route 66) that ran from Chicago to Santa Monica, California......stopping at small towns, getting jobs, making a couple of bucks, getting into situations with the local people (guest stars), and then moving on to the next adventure. Does this sound familiar to you??......did you have a similar show in Australia??
As a kid, I climbed into that Vette with Todd and Buzz......and have wanted a Corvette since......smart marketing. Now the musical part, the show featured a theme song by Nelson Riddle (Sinatra's music director) that was done as a jazz number......but had to be rained in for TV......so it never got to be what it could have been......give that a listen......that piano line.....maybe the best TV theme song ever.....
