Firmer gouge?

I’ve never used one.  Should I consider them?  How much use might one be.  About the only concave things I make are chair and settee seats.  Currently, I am using a 4 1/2” angle grinder with a grinding disc, and a travisher to carve my seats.  This usually means I don’t make seats in poor weather.
