Howdy folks,

We have opened a new chat room that will replace the one we've been using for almost five years now. If you'd like to check it out, click the top menu and then Chatroom. In the old days, when Stephen Shepherd was still around, we used to have scheduled chats three nights a week -- General Woodworking, Turning and Hand Tools -- each with their chat moderator. Every so often I'd invite some luminary from the woodworking world to join us for a special guest chat, and we'd preserve the discussion for posterity. Now that we've been making site changes, our chat "splash page" has gone away, but I'll be making a new one sometime soon so these priceless discussions will remain available. For now, know that you can arrange to meet with other site participants in real time, 24/7, in the chatroom. If anyone would like to stir the pot and volunteer to recruit participants, please step forward. I've got too much on my plate right now to work on this.
