Afraid to use it

I just got my new Veritas DX60 block plane. I never thought I could get a thrill from some kind of object : for me it's listening to great music -- that sort of thing. But I really can't get over this thing! It's truly a magnificent piece of equipment. And now I am afraid to even set it up-- let alone use it. I will; but for now I just have to let it sit on my bench while maybe I try to make another natural edge box with the tools I already have. I blame Derek of course; everything's his fault!
