SUPPORT WOODCENTRAL

What's it worth to you?

Hi Folks,

WoodCentral is a legacy woodworking site created by and for the people who visit here. I do my best to make the site the best it can be, to pay the bills, and to keep things running smoothly.

Now that we're approaching a quarter century online, I am pleased to say that WoodCentral is still up and running -- as am I, thankfully -- all because of the dedication and largesse of you, our visitors! But, the out-of-pocket costs of maintaining a 5,000 page website are not inconsequential. As much as I would prefer not to ask you for help, the fact is that advertising revenues cover only a small part of our annual operating costs, and the rest has to come from other sources. Hat and T-shirt sales are not a meaningful profit center. Donations, including donations to our Benefit Auctions, are far more important to our vitality and growth.

Several years ago, we adopted the "Recurring Donations" system, a clever service from PayPal® that lets you automatically and painlessly send WoodCentral small donations at regular intervals until further notice. You can opt in or out anytime, so there's never any risk. Just select a comfortable contribution level and click the "DONATE" button next to your selected donation amount below. If you are not a PayPal® member, you will have the option of signing up right away for this popular Internet transaction service. Signup is very easy and completely secure. [NOTE: Annual donations are more cost effective for us. PayPal® charges WoodCentral a small fee for every donation, and this transaction fee amounts to a much larger percentage of small monthly donations than it does of larger annual ones.]

Only you can decide what WoodCentral is worth to you. We've just redesigned the site and plan to keep the improvements coming. I hope that you consider some level of participation to help us keep the lights on and sustain this remarkable community of woodworkers and friends. Thanks in advance!

All donors will receive two WoodCentral patches that you can sew or stick on anything that needs a sporty logo. At the $100 level, donors are eligible for a WoodCentral hat or T-shirt as well. And everyone who contributes will get my everlasting esteem and a commitment to keep this site growing and evolving through our second decade.

Patronize our advertisers

One of the best ways to support us is to give your business to the good folks who advertise here. Every WoodCentral advertiser sells something that you probably need, so don't be shy. Visit their sites and tell them WoodCentral sent you. Take time out from your message meandering to click their banners. They'll be glad you did, and so will you! And, so will WoodCentral when they renew their ad.

Buy a hat or shirt

Our snazzy hats, T-shirts, and other gear are now proudly worn from coast to coast by the most discerning, fashion-conscious woodworkers. In our Wallpaper page, you can catch glimpses of WoodCentral hats in some pretty bizarre and unexpected places, like Stonehenge, the Taj Mahal, the great pyramids, the Grand Canyon, Big Ben and Machu Picchu.

Offer something for auction

From our Classifieds messageboard, you can "auction" anything you think our visitors might like, and donate the proceeds or a portion thereof to WoodCentral. It's a great way to make the best of unused tools, wood, books, videos, supplies or finished products.

Tell your friends about us

Higher traffic to WoodCentral results in increased advertising revenue and a more diverse and vibrant community.
