Ignore if this does not apply to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To protect everyone on the site and keep our email from being blocked or blacklisted, we\u2019ve made a change to how outgoing email works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>From now on, email must be sent using our <a href=\"https:\/\/workspace.org\/\">web-based mail system (webmail)<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Email accounts today are a frequent target for automated attacks. Even when a password is strong, it can be stolen by malware, a compromised plugin, or reused from another service that was breached. When that happens, attackers don\u2019t need access to our website \u2014 they can send mail remotely from anywhere in the world using the stolen credentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That puts the entire site at risk. A single abused account can cause:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Our mail server to be blacklisted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Legitimate messages to be rejected or lost<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delays or blocks for all users<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Webmail avoids this problem entirely. When you send mail through webmail:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Messages are sent <strong>directly from our server<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is no remote SMTP access to exploit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stolen credentials cannot be used from outside locations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email delivery is more reliable and trusted by other mail providers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With today\u2019s always-on internet connections, a separate email program (Thunderbird, Outlook, etc.) is no longer necessary for most users.
