It\u2019s designed to be easy to use, fast, and reliable \u2014 especially for people switching from Windows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Linux Mint comes with everything you need for daily use: a web browser, office suite, music and video players, email, and more \u2014 all ready to go after installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s based on <strong>Ubuntu<\/strong> but uses the <strong>Cinnamon<\/strong>, <strong>MATE<\/strong>, or <strong>Xfce<\/strong> desktop environments. You\u2019ll \u201cburn\u201d this file to your USB drive to create a bootable Linux Mint installer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Download and Install Balena Etcher<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Go to:<br>\ud83d\udc49 <a href=\"https:\/\/etcher.balena.io\/\">https:\/\/etcher.balena.io<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click <strong>Download for Windows<\/strong> and install it like any other app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udca1 <strong>What is Balena Etcher?<\/strong><br>It\u2019s a simple tool to \u201cflash\u201d an ISO file to a USB drive so your computer can boot from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Create the Linux Mint USB Installer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plug your USB drive into your Windows computer.<br>\u26a0\ufe0f <strong>This will erase everything on the USB drive.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open <strong>Balena Etcher<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Flash from file<\/strong> and choose the Linux Mint ISO you downloaded.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Select target<\/strong> and choose your USB drive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Flash!<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Etcher will write the installer and verify it.<br>When it says <strong>Flash Complete!<\/strong>, your USB drive is ready to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Boot the Target Computer from the USB Drive<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now you\u2019ll install Linux Mint on the other computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plug the USB stick into that computer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turn the computer <strong>off<\/strong> if it\u2019s on.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turn it <strong>on<\/strong> and immediately press the <strong>boot menu key<\/strong>, usually one of:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>F12<\/strong> \u2013 Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>F9<\/strong> \u2013 HP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>F8<\/strong> \u2013 Asus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Esc<\/strong> \u2013 Some laptops<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>F2<\/strong> or <strong>Del<\/strong> \u2013 Opens BIOS (look for \u201cBoot Order\u201d)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the boot menu, select your USB drive (e.g., \u201cUSB HDD\u201d or \u201cUEFI: SanDisk\u201d).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5.
