Suffice it to say that we have a couple thousand pictures of our journeys across Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Arizon,a and now Nevada that we will someday sort through. Some will be uploaded here. Meanwhile, the good news is that we&#8217;re still going strong, Candy&#8217;s knee is still keeping her from extended walks, the dog is fine, and we just spent an evening on the Las Vegas strip. It was 108 degrees in the shade yesterday, as we traveled here from the cool and pleasant North Rim of the Grand Canyon, so we checked into one of the local La Quinta motels to take refuge from the heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, we&#8217;ve decided to forego our plan to travel across Death Valley, where the daytime temperature is expected to top 115 degrees today. Instead, we&#8217;re heading across to Barstow, California and then up to Sequoia National Park, a long drive, but worth it to get back into the trees and mountains. The Southwest is gorgeous and awe-inspiring, but we can live without the dust and heat. After today, we should be quite comfortable as we make our way up through Yosemite, past Lake Tahoe, and off to northern California and the Crater Lake area of southern Oregon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">More later.
