Not a new photograph, and no idea on the equipment used. Posting this as example of what can be done to digitally fix old photographs. Be prepared to invest a lot of time, but the results can be rewarding.
I do not know the actual age of the original, but it is the oldest of my families photographs, likely taken in the early 1900's.
I did this digital fixing over 11 years ago using Picture Publisher. I spent many days. My wife would now spend hours in Photoshop.
As I found out, creating pixels to cover where sections were torn, missing or cracked is the most time consuming.
This was taken in my home town, Halifax, UK. Subject is my great-grandmother. I remember some streets were still cobble stones as I grew up.
The clock tower in the background is still standing. The houses were already looking in disrepair.
The lamppost was likely gas powered at that time.
This is the before original.
This was my corrections.
One day I may try to improve.
