...is a most basic light set-up for making excellent quality images of small items like pens and jewelry. This is a simple frosted plastic storage tub which diffuses the light, and the light is placed above on the outside. To modify the light for some situations, I place a white cardboard panel in front of the camera, and for highly reflective/polished surfaces the panel can be black to reduce reflections of the tripod/camera/photographer.
