Smoke Detectors ()

Reed Gray
When I built my new shop, I asked about them. I was told that they do not work well in wood shops because they try to detect 'particulate matter' which dust fits into. I have several fire extinguishers around the shop. I was also told by the fire marshal that I would need to put in a sprinkler system, or put in a fire hydrant. I am at the end of a dead end street, and for some reason, even though there should have been a fire hydrant here, nearest one was about 2 blocks away. So, I paid for the fire hydrant. I guess that makes me a good neighbor....
