Glad it wasn't worse than pride and dollars!
I always try to remember to check the speed setting before turning on but one's brain isn't as reliable as we like to think.
When I made a remote on/off box on the end of a wire for my General 26020 VFD I also moved the speed pot to the switch box to help avoid this potential problem.
