whether its got Yack-pee color or it's been blessed by a rabbi or it "pours when it rains," it's sodium chloride; no more no less. Kosher salt is a waste if it's not used as a final topping to give a "crunch" to a dish; dissolve it and it's the same as table salt.

The grinder allows a bit more control over how much you add to your plate. The grinders also look cool.
