Mark -- I believe most would agree that the 'best' mill mechanisms are made by CrushGrind, a company out of Denmark. I believe that the mechanism is still under patent. Craft Supplies USA and other woodturning suppliers sell them.

While CrushGrind may be the best, there's nothing wrong with the traditional mechanism. Lots of different vendors of those, too. I used to get mine from Chefware Kits (a company that now sells few treen items). Years ago, I was told that the same maker supplied both Craft Supplies USA and Chefware. I don't know if that's true, but the kits sure looked to be the same. I purchased through Chefware because I could get better bulk pricing.
