Well I would go CBN if at all possible. The lack of vibration and wheel wear makes getting repeat grinds really easy. It is the best thing I've done. I like the rounded edge because I sharpen my HSS hollowing tool cutters using the rounded shoulders YOu can safely leave the guards off your grinder because these things will never blow up. Just measure the shaft length to make sure the nuts will still go on with a wider wheel. I have ground hardened carbon steel tools on my CBN wheels without problems but I would not grind soft steel, copper, aluminum etc. If you only have one grinder keep an aluminum oxide wheel on one side for these softer materials and put a CBN on the other. The best place to get them in my opinion is from Ken Rizza.
