Barry -- Go to Turntex.com, where you'll find lots of information about Cactus Juice and related topics. Stabilizing isn't nearly as difficult and expensive as Dick suggests. That DOESN'T mean it makes economic sense to stabilize these burls. It just means it's something a typical hobbyist can learn how to do and do well.

Whether it makes economic sense depends on a lot of factors. With Cactus Juice and some dye, you can turn a punky piece of wood into something spectacular. How much that is 'worth' depends mostly on your perspective. Kinda like beauty, it's all in the eye of the beholder.

You can do a lot of things to make the Cactus Juice go farther and penetrate more deeply. For example, if you know you want to turn a box, or a duck call, rough turn the piece and drill out the middle. The less wood you put into the vacuum chamber, the less resin you'll use!
