I like to sharpen my skews on a CBN wheel using the Robust tool rest and simply guide them by hand for the proper angle of the cutting edge. I can quickly make them either straight or curved. I then hone the edge using a Trend 600 grit diamond hone. With the slight convex edge it's very easy to hone accurately since the tool is riding on 2 points (the heel and toe of the bevel). I can hone many times before needing to go back to the grinder. I tried flat grinds and convex grinds and don't see any advantage.
