I understand the structure, by definition it is lots of air, the pores where sap used to flow up and down.
Yes the tennon is kind of small but that is the size of the chuck that was free, a Vic when it is almost closed. This was a core of this bowl:

This 14" bowl was done using the OneWay chuck, that it's enormous for this size bowl, only 10".
This was the second bowl sold this season, the very first time it was in display...
