That's the same air cleaner I have (excellent choice, by the way), but when I am turning it is directly behind me on the center of the opposite long wall. Your dust mask is your primary defense, the vacuum hood (close to where the fine dust is being created) is secondary, and the air cleaner is tertiary. It allows you to work in your shop without wearing your dust mask when you are not sanding or otherwise creating small particles.
