I’ll have to admit that I have one of these “monsters”. I would have never bought it but it came with my used lathe purchase. It measures 2” outside dimensions and 1 3/4” as the Europeans measure (probably metric because it is slightly off measured with my calipers). That being said, I used it to rough out some larger pieces and it worked very well. So I tried it on some pepper mill blanks and I realized there was far less transfer of vibration to my bursitis afflicted shoulder. So it gets equal usage with my 3/4” srg now.
