Re: A different way to 'turn' a pen

Years ago a prolific pen turner often posted amazing designs without saying how he did it. The designs featured multicolored veneer that appeared to be inlays sandwiched into the wood. I can't remember his name at the moment, and I think he is now deceased, but in one of our private communications I got the impression he was using a CNC machine to cut grooves in a pen blank for the inlay.

It's been a long time and my memory somehow has not been improving with age. Does anyone remember this gentleman?
