Turning

An interesting accessory...... *PIC*

Being that I'm an inexperienced turner, I've not seen this device shown in woodturning videos or demonstrations I've attended (sorry if its commonly used).

While doing some research on collet chucks, I watched a metal turning video in which the demonstrator used this accessory when he tapped a work piece and I knew this would be of a great help to me in using taps on my wood lathe. Its called a "spring center tap guide tool".....which I found on Amazon.

Its held in a Jacob drill chuck in the tail stock.....and can be compressed by advancing the guide into the rear centering hole on a tap. This allows you to concentrate on turning the tap a few turns before having to advance the tap guide again to compress the spring.

Handy.
