OT glasses repair *PIC*

john lucas
Got to use my camera repair skills this morning to fix my glassses. The little piece that actuates the spring broke. I temporarily glued it into place and then drilled an .018" hole and reground a staple from rectangular to round with a slight taper. Then drove it in the hole. Leveled the surfaces of the pin close and then peened it over making it a small rivet. Seems to have worked. I'll go the glasses place later in the week and raise a cain. These are only about 5 months old. Really glad I bought that rotary tool drill press at the flea mkt last year for $5. It's very precision and made it super simple to drill that hole. Worked so well I could have put in 2 pins.
