A local club used a method similar to Joh K's but maybe a little different. (For a PM).
One end of each dolly is built up so that they are about 1/2" higher than the cross brace.
Slide one end under the cross brace (from the middle) and it will have to be angled up. Step on the end at the center and use the leverage to lift it. Block the center end of the dolly with a length of 2X4 under the ways. The weight of the lathe keeps the 2X from being loose. Then do the same on the opposite end.
Barney Fife should be able to move it by himself with no problem.
