As we discussed in chat tonight, here's a close up on where I adjusted the branding as the diameter of the piece decreases. The pattern eventually catches up with itself and results in a bottom row lining up with the top row and having two horizontals or two verticals in line. When that happens I stop, and burn two touches perpendicular to the one above to avoid having three touches in the same orientation on top of each other. I start the next row where I've set the perpendicular burn. Hope this makes sense. It's difficult to describe in writing.
