>My oldest son has a "large" hickory tree down in the woods somewhere. His normal price is $40/rick for red oak. I ask him how much more for the hickory. His reply was $60/rick! He claims it's difficult to split, which it is. My reply: I'll pay the increase value in BTU's over red oak. What price did we agree on?

I must agree, if he wants to find the Bar-bue-Q market, he can more than likely get 60 dollars plus for the hickory.
