>The image of an igloo as a temporary home seems to be known to all of us. There are lots of interesting facts about the igloo as a home, not the least of which is that it is a extremely well designed shelter. But how is a residence, built in under two hours with little but a flat stick built to withstand a nine foot tall polar bear standing on its hind legs and attempting to crush it to reach the objects it can plainly see inside the translucent shelter. How can this be?
