The "accompanying" preposition (with), absent the I is a wth. Total was a crwth. I pronounce it as a crewth, rhymes with tooth. Note: two of the strings are not on the fingerboard and are a steady note. Dan had it as a different name, crwl, so my rambling answer made zero sense.
