John, your choice is relevant to lathe chisels, however a flat woodworker would be better served with a 180 grit.
My ideal two-wheel set up for plane blades and bench chisels is a 180 grit on on side, and a linen buffing wheel on the other. The latter is to add a Unicorn profile to chisels. You should try this with lathe chisels as well - I am finding the very helpful.
