Subject:
I have lost my Away....

Barry Irby
I tried to develop the habit of putting things away. I started with the idea that every time I walk into the shop I would put ten things away. Sometimes that got a little ridiculous. I would walk in to get a pencil or the plan for what I am working on and have to put ten things away before I could take it and leave.

Then I started making more and more places for things to be and tried to develop the habit of putting the tool back on it's hanger or shelf as soon as I'm finished using it. That went well for a while, but stuff kept appearing in the shop. Now there is no place to put anything away. Well, at least not everything. There is no more AWAY. Just can't resist a tool or wood auction. Might be time for a purge.
