Been waiting about 40 years for this ash tree to be taken out on our property. Agreement among the various stake holders was finally reached this summer, and down she came. No 36 inch wide boards for me or my chainsaw. You always hope, but this one was fully rotted except for about 3 inches inboard of the bark. And that wood was really nice for ash, but not viable for sawing. Oh well. That is how it goes. I didn't expect perfection. the center was certain to be gone, but this was less yield than I had hoped for. Saved a huge amount of work and I have no idea where I would have stored the wood.
