How do you drill a hole for the plug. The center is missing so an accurate hole can not be make with a brad point.

A forstner bit is the solution since it doesn't need the center hole to be accurate. It's the bit I use anytime I'm installing tapered plugs because it cuts a cleaner hole than other bits.
