Re: Lubricant for plunge router guide posts

Sgian Dubh
If they're particularly sticky and mucky, I simply clean the posts with some wire wool (or nylon abrasive) with a little white spirit, if it's to hand, and if not, WD40, then a couple of drops of 3 in 1 oil.

If there's no obvious gunge to clean, I usually just squirt a bit of WD40, then a bit of 3 in 1 oil on each post.

In either cases I plunge the router up and down a few times to ensure smooth operation, and use. Repeat cleaning and/or lubrication as necessary. Slainte.
