Guide rods sticky? Clean them with mineral spirits first.

Your cold shop limits many liquid type lubriciants.

Could try just some automotive wax. Wipe on. Let haze over. Wipe on.

I use a spray on graphite. Have to protect other areas from the overspray. Once the carrier flashes off, if the shafts & bearings are smooth & clean, it should slide really easy.

Another product I use on my tablesaw is Bostich Top-Coat. It sprays on, wipes off, creates a nice slippery surface that prevents mild rust and doesn't transfer to the wood. Been using it for 15 years.
