Mark Mandell - Gone Round In New Jersey
My daughter's looking at a house, and asked me to look it over.
House is very well kept. The mechanicals are not new but well within their service ranges with documented inspections and repairs.
When I looked over the basement I find the entire perimeter of sill plates and rim joists were coated several inches thick with sprayed-on foam. It appears to be an attempt are "super insulation" but makes it impossible to inspect /monitor for WDI. The foundation walls are block so subterranean termites have a path to the framing.
Anybody here have experience with this stuff? Will termite companies even warranty the place after treatment?
