... is that you will probably not be using full length boards, and a planer that takes out twist and cup could take you below the thickness you'll need for parts.

If finish thickness isn't an issue, or cup and twist aren't too bad, you might be able to get away with full length/width stock prep. Otherwise, I'd still wait until you have rough parts cut before flattening and planing.
