I have a similar shelf pin jig. The only difference is that it's only "half" of your jig.

Imagine ripping the jig in half, length-wise. The "holes" now become half circle "indentations." This makes jig no less accurate, but very fast in action. It's much easier to slide the router to the next indentations than to lift the router and drop the template guide in the next hole.
