Subject:
How to best cut a large circle

Bill Tindall, E.Tn.
I need to turn a 34" square of 4/4 lumber into a 34" diameter circle table top. I have a large band saw and other common tools. So, how to best wind up with a circle with finished edge?

I can look up cutting circles on U-tube, but I won't. Not interested in how it might be done. Rather, what I want is the advice of someone here that has done it successfully. Absent some better way I will cut it on the band saw and plane/rasp the edge smooth. But even on my big saw it will be a challenge to handle the large piece.
