I bought and sold a couple barns and barn wood in my youth. In those days, at least, it was in demand mostly for wall paneling in restaurants and commercial establishments. There's actually a decent profit to be made on disassembling and selling barn components, though taking roof structures down is not for the faint of heart or the elderly. :)

I don't know if the aroma of tobacco barn siding would be acceptable to the architects that are designing these spaces.
