When you snapped the pictures with your iPhone 6s at 12:51PM, the camera encoded the orientation of the camera and added it to the image's EXIF information (along with a whole bunch of other information including precise latitude and longitude and altitude) . Now the image 'knows' what is up (literally) and any viewing program which honors this information will display it as the camera 'saw' it. Generally running the file through an editor program and then re-saving it without EXIF will fix this.
