Bulk wood pencils, be careful *PIC*

Where are they? ()

How do you screw up a pencil? Well two things, you don’t use a soft wood like cedar and you don’t center the graphite. Who knows the hardness regardless of any markings? Big box office supply stores and at least one Sam’s Club have inexpensive bulk pencils. Some are round and some hexagonal, most are "pencil yellow". No matter, my experience is they promote zero confidence. As the clerk in the store told me – “Well, they write don’t they”. True, but I hate sharpening a sharpened pencil with the point still partially covered in rough wood.
Same sharpener keeping pressure as close to the same, handheld.
