I hadn't considered that beeswax might be too slippery for floors, but that makes sense, and it's an important consideration. I had planned to shred it in a cheese grater or use some that was already in flake form and dissolve it in enough odorless mineral spirits to get it to the consistency of the Johnson's product.

Did your Wall Street Journal give any indication of the kind of wax used in the Johnson's product?

No, regrettably, I will not be attending Handworks this year. :(
