It appears that I may need to replace the wiring from the phone box to the phone outlets in our house. We have DSL on the phone line so that I can type these words into the interweb.

I hear conflicting things: that there's a higher grade of wiring from the phone box to the phone outlets, suitable for DSL, and that the old-fashioned stuff that's been around for years is what you use.

Any information on this would be much appreciated; also, any suggestions of good references for phone wiring. I'm familiar with electricity; not so much with phone stuff.
