We have gotten some good employees through internal referrals, and we've gotten some real stinkers that way - all seems to depend on the good or not so good judgement of the person doing the referring. The trouble is we're running out of people we know

I did end up suggesting we put an ad on CL, the older I get the less I seem to care if the boss thinks I have a dumb idea.... I don't think he'll do it though, we suffer from institutional inertia of the highest order.
