is, of course, the first requirement. I wonder how many people get their New Toy home, throw a blade on it, assume the machine was aligned at the Chinese factory [laughs and giggles, stage left], and expect it to cut straight.
When I got my JET 18, way back when, I spent some careful time adjusting and shimming "here 'n there" to get it right. Nothing major, nor very technical or hard to do. Getting the wheels co-planer under working tension was job No. 1.
BTW, I tried sharpening a blade once using a air die grinder. Got nice and sharp, but the tooth set was changed and the blade wanted to cut in wiggles. S-canned it.
