I have a similar problem, with one of my shop cats (3). I recently was adopted by black cat, call him K.C. (short for Knight Crawler) who loves everyone, and wants to be in the middle of every thing you are doing. If you are hand sanding he attacks the sand paper, or your pincil if you are drawing or writeing. The problem is he is deaf, and does not know when a saw or anything else is running. I have had to make several "emergency slaps" to knock him away from a tool that is running. It is impossible to keep him out of the shop, and I just hope he gets the idea soon. He has turned ot to be a good pet, and purs louder than any other cat I have had in the past.
