I'm not a fan of hitting for corrrection. We rescued a 1 1/2 year old lab/golden retriever mix and 10 years latter she still freaks out if I roll up a newspaper to kill a spider. She had a horrible life in her previous home. I prefer noise or a spritz from a squirt gun or water bottle to get there attention. You have to break their attention to make them understand. I snap my fingers now, but used one of those metal clickers when she was younger. I say these pups are the salt of the earth. She gives me one lick when I do her a favor, or get her fresh water. Never had a dog give this much affection. Best of luck to you. Yeah, I wonder how many dogs will get the name "Wego" after that commercial.
